London Fashion Week returns for its 61st edition on February 20th. This time, the opening day will be focused on the UK's reputation for fashion education. The largest ever reunion of students from iconic fashion school Central Saint Martins will gather to honour the professor Louise Wilson OBE, who was the head of MA in fashion and passed away in May of last year.

A show featuring the collections of the last of Wilson's undergraduates will close the first day of LFW. The fashion week is also celebrating female entrepreneurs this season, including four of the NEWGEN recipients: Ashley Williams, Claire Barrow, Marta Jakubowski and Molly Goddard. They will show alongside Sam McCoach from Le Kilt and Phoebe English for the very first time, the BFC says.

As previously reported, Gareth Pugh is returning to LFW for his 10-year anniversary. Joseph and Mother of Pearl are new additions to the catwalk schedule. The BFC also revealed that London Fashion Week directly contributes £26bn to the UK economy, an increase from £21bn in 2009. £10.7bn is spent on fashion online in the UK, and this is expected to reach £19bn by 2019.

In total, 797,000 jobs are supported by the UK fashion industry.
