The house of Chanel has opened a new chapter in the olfactory history of "Coco Mademoiselle" with the powerful and addictive fragrance "Coco Mademoiselle Eau de Parfum Intense." The muse of the iconic perfume for more than a decade, Keira Knightley will feature in the advertising film for the relaunch to be unveiled on February 26.

Created in 2001 and lauded as a fragrance with character, "Coco Mademoiselle" combined the freshness of citrus fruits with the addictive sensuality of classic patchouli. Some 17 years later, Chanel is to present "Coco Mademoiselle Eau de Parfum Intense," which features a fragrance trail close to the original perfume with additional oriental notes, which make it all the more magnetic.

“I wanted to remain close to the original formula, while giving it a whole new dimension,” explains Olivier Polge, perfumer-creator for the house of Chanel. “I wanted to increase the proportions of fractionated patchouli. Push it to the limit. Unleash its power on the skin without altering the freshness of the top notes.”

The new formulation notably involves an intensified fraction of patchouli mingled with an amber-style combination of tonka bean and vanilla absolutes and a heart of rose and jasmine.

On February 26, the French luxury house is to unveil an advertising film for the new fragrance. Keira Knightley will feature as the muse of "Coco Mademoiselle Eau de Parfum Intense," a woman that is by turns mischievous, impertinent, seductive and passionate in a film by Johan Renck.

In the run-up to its general release, the new fragrance retails for 137 euros per 100ml.
