The temporary museum will house the exhibition, titled ‘Beyond Context,’ and focuses on Visser’s three disciplines: couture, ready-to-wear and his artwork. The exhibition will feature iconic pieces, hats and objects from Visser’s archive beside the winter 2017-2018 couture collection. A selection of red carpet dresses, designed for Dutch celebrities, will also be present.

‘Beyond Context’ allows the visitor to take a closer look into Visser’s creative process via light, motion, image and music.

The temporary museum will also house Visser’s first concept store, offering the latest ready-to-wear collection. Visitors can view and try on the collection, with the help of a team of stylists. A portion of the proceeds of the exhibition will be donated to the Princess Máxima Centrum, center for pediatric oncology.

Mart Visser launched his first couture collection in 1992. In 2003, the couturier introduced his debut ready-to-wear collection. The designer is known for providing couture with a ‘modern’ and ‘young’ look in the Netherlands.

The temporary museum and concept store will be located at Herengracht 541 in Amsterdam.
