Hector Muelas is in demand. After having served at DKNY as Chief Image Officer and at Apple as Creative Director of Worldwide Marketing Communications, Muelas has landed at Rimowa where he will serve as Chief Brand Officer.
Founded in Cologne, Germany in 1898, Rimowa produces premium and high technology luggage that is lightweight and designed for easy use. LVMH acquired the company in October 2016 for $716 million, which marked as the French luxury group’s first acquisition in Germany. In addition, Alexandre Arnault, one of the sons of LVMH head Bernard Arnault, became co-chief executive alongside Dieter Morszeck, grandson of the founder of Rimowa.
As Chief Image Officer, Muelas will oversee the brand’s global marketing and communications, including advertising, visual marketing, digital, public relations, media and brand co-operation, and he will also report to Alexandre Arnault.
Muelas held several creative roles throughout his career including Creative Director, Editor-in-Chief, Partner at Vice, Creative at Wieden + Kennedy, and Creative Executive at Creative Artists Agency. Prior to joining Rimowa, he worked at DKNY for less than a year.
