Shiseido continues to strengthen itself in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region with the recruitment of two executives from French luxury and beauty firms.

With the role of EMEA president already awarded to Franck Marilly - the former CEO of Chanel Europe's fragrance and beauty division - on January 1, Shiseido has announced the appointment of Eric Lefranc, previously at LVMH, to the role of vice president of operations for the EMEA region.

Previously the head of operations at LVMH group cosmetic brand Make Up For Ever, Lefranc will be in charge of the Japanese group's wellness, cosmetics and fragrance brands (Shiseido, Laura Mercier and Nars, among others) in the EMEA region, which has operations in Gien and Ormes, in the Loiret region in France. He succeeds Hervé Ronsin and will report to EMEA president, Franck Marilly.

Lefranc started his career with L'Oréal, where he worked for nine years in various supply chain positions for the Lancôme brand, as well as for the group's luxury division. He then moved to Jakarta, Indonesia, where he held the position of director for Southeast Asia. In 2012, he joined the LVMH group as studio director near Mont-Saint-Michel for Louis Vuitton.
