The Dior house presents its Haute Couture collection and unseen pieces in homage to Japan. Some weeks before the next presentation of the Cruise collection in Los Angeles it’s to Tokyo that the Dior house paid a visit. At the opening of the House of Dior store, situated in the new GINZA mall, Maria Grazia Chiuri presented the Spring-Summer 2017 Haute Couture on the rooftop. The designer conceived some unseen creations in homage to Japan for the occasion. In being particularly inspired by the “Japanese garden” dress dating back to 1953, drawn by Mr Dior and the cherry blossoms, she created many exclusive looks on the Haute Collection just as much as on the ready to wear Capsule and accessories collection. Interview with Maria Grazia Chiuri :I went in the past at different time in Japan. I was in Kyoto, it was beautiful. I really like and respect their vision of craftsmanship. Everything is about human touch and that, I think is very close with the French and also with my Italian culture. I’m working in the company with the same attitude. I respect the heritage but at the same time I want to move this brand into the future. Music from the show
