The executive, whose most recent role was as general manager of Etro, was also earlier vice-president of Tom Ford, and president of international operations at Abercrombie & Fitch. Additionally, he has held key roles within the Gucci Group at both star brand Gucci and at Bottega Veneta.

He is replacing Helen Wright, who is still with the company at the moment with Anya Hindmarch not having given a specific date for her departure. During her time there she has driven the brand’s international wholesale and retail expansion.

The label, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, is now a regular at London Fashion Week and was in fact the first accessories designer to hold an on-schedule LFW show.

Growing fast, it has recently opened stores in LA, Seoul, Hong Kong, Singapore, Riyadh and Paris, all of which helped it to deliver sales growth of 21% last year.

Brand founder Anya Hindmarch said Giannaccari’s “knowledge of luxury brands and operations will play a big part as we deliver our next phase of development.”
