Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week is gearing up for its next edition, which will be held from April 19 to 23 next year. Organized by Fira de Barcelona, the bridal event will present the latest designs of Spanish and international firms in the sector, in an "increasingly experiential" format. The event will focus on innovation, creativity and craftsmanship, and aims to promote sustainable fashion and encourage the internationalization of participating brands and companies.

As detailed by the trade show through a statement, the 2023 edition of the event will be held under the theme 'Rise'. BBFW intends to use this expression to portray the image of a  "dynamic and vital bride" and to underline "its creativity and innovation towards an increasingly sustainable, conscious, responsible and inclusive fashion". Thus, the event aims to "rise" from a non-conformist and disruptive point of view, with the objective of uniting the sector "to reinvent the path towards a new leadership."

“We are striving to create an edition in which brands, designers, buyers and industry professionals can experience a new, creative and groundbreaking atmosphere that will help drive business, as well as help us explore how the industry will evolve and adapt to the demands of future brides," said Albasarí Caro, who was appointed director of Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week in September.

The newly appointed director, who has 20 years of experience in the bridal industry after working for companies such as Pronovias, Mango and Cortefiel, succeeds Estermaria Laruccia, who led the event for the past seven years.

"Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week will enhance in each edition its role as a business epicenter and platform for generating relevant content for brands and buyers who, in addition to being key players, will be the event’s main promoters," added Caro, stressing the importance of always remaining focused on the commercial sphere.

One of the event's priorities will be to boost business in international markets, strengthening its foothold in countries such as Europe and the U.S. and expanding into Asia. BBFW will especially focus on markets such as Japan, South Korea and Southeast Asia. At its next edition, the event will have an average international presence of 75% in terms of supply and 65% in terms of visitors.

In parallel to the physical event returning to the Montjuïc venue with runway shows being held from April 19 to 22 and the trade show taking place from April 21 to 23, BBFW will continue to promote its digital platform. Equipped with an area dedicated exclusively to participating brands and professionals to increase their connection opportunities worldwide, and another open to the public to facilitate access to viewing the bridal collections, the platform registered up to 40,000 views during its last edition.
