Pieters' work is a display of ethical and environmently friendly designs. Additionally, he also shows how he paves the way towards a 100% transparency policy towards consumers. The designer believes that the future of fashion is not solely about trends, but also about the need of creating a sense of conciousness.

“High-end fashion should be an example of corporate social responsibility in accordance with the highest ethical standards. These standards should be transparent, so that consumers are aware of the ethical choices that can be made,” says Pieters.

Behind the Clothes is divided into two sections: ‘The Clothes’ and ‘Behind the Clothes’. The Clothes covers three divisions: the first is ‘ A Tribute,’ where Pieters presents five new designs and slogans dedicated to one of his examples, the British designer Katharine Hamnett. At ‘Transparancy,’ Pieters exhibits five designs from his label, Honest By, with information, such as the materials used and the manufacturing processes. At the ‘Re-made’ division Pieters redesigns some of his most famous works using ethical materials.
At the ‘Behind the Clothes’ section Pieters presents a series of portraits of more than forty people from the Antwerp fashion industry, who all play a role in the production and creative process of design.

Behind the Clothes is open until 31 July 2016. The exhibition is located at Kattendijkdok Oostkaai 22, Antwerp.
