Bergdorf Goodman names Matt Marcotte as new chief operating officer

Bergdorf Goodman, a subsidiary of Neiman Marcus Group, has named Matt Marcotte has as its new chief operating officer.

In his new role, which began on January 14, Marcotte is responsible for overseeing company operations and retail experience, and will report directly to Bergdorf Goodman's president, Darcy Penick.

Prior to joining Bergdorf Goodman, Marcotte served in a variety of executive roles, including as executive vice president, head of global direct to consumer at Tory Burch, managing director of retail North America at Apple, and vice president at Gap

“Matt is a passionate and deliberate leader with a highly customer-centric approach which will benefit both our associates and customers,” Penick said in a press release. “His indelible record of unlocking growth potential and creating innovative strategies made him the clear choice for this role.”

The company additionally announced Yumi Shin, who has been with the Bergdorf Goodman since October, has been named retailer's chief merchant. In this new role, Shin will continue to oversee all of the brand's product categories in stores and online.

The new appointments come about six months after Neiman Marcus announced it would hire Penick as president.
