Berlin fashion fairs Ethical Fashion Show and Greenshowroom have announced the theme of their next event, set to take place during Berlin Fashion Week at Berlin Postbahnhof.

Messe Frankfurt

‘ActiveSlow’ is the name of the new concept running across this winter’s exhibitions which will showcase emerging fashion brands over an increased surface area.

“The booking situation for both trade fairs is highly promising. We have a number of strong labels on board, including both global pioneers and up-and-coming newcomers from the eco fashion segment”, said Olaf Schmidt, vice president, Textiles & Textile Technologies at Messe Frankfurt.

From 17-19 January 2017, leading and emerging labels will take over the Berlin events venue once again to celebrate sustainability in fashion.

Greenshowroom will be presenting high-quality contemporary brands with highlights including Ackermann Taschenmanufaktur and its bags made from olive leaf-dyed cow leather; Bangladesh-based Living Blue and its collections made using organic; and South African brand Rhumna.

Ethical Fashion Show, meanwhile, will be showcasing streetwear brands such as ShineConcept, Langbrett, Remei and Lanius.

Progressive design and performance in combination with resource efficiency and recyclability will be  the fair’s central themes of the winter season.

ESMOD Berlin will be presenting a selection of functional clothing in collaboration with Manufactum and a panel discussion will look into the issues related to textile waste in the ocean.
