Private equity firm Marwyn Value Investors is considering to sell its luxury footwear brand Le Chameau.

Marwyn Value Investors confirmed it is working with corporate finance firm Financo to review its strategic options for the brand, which sells handmade wellington boots for men and women.

It acquired Le Chameau plc in 2012, and currently owns 93.4% of the business. The sale could fetch at least £25 million, according to The Times.

Marwyn Value Investors said no transaction has been agreed yet, and that there is no certainty that there will be a sale.

The heritage footwear brand counts the Duchess of Cambridge and Victoria Beckham among its fans. Since its foundation in 1927, it has built a reputation for quality, using natural rubber, nubuck leather, wool and jersey to manufacture durable boots for shooting, gardening and farming.

In 2017, the company made a pre-tax loss of £7.3 million.
