Los Angeles-based label Enfants Riches Déprimés has opened its first-ever flagship boutique in Paris, inside a former jeweler’s atelier, at 79 Rue Charlot.

Designed by Parisian architect, Didier Faustino, in collaboration with brand founder Henri Alexander Levy, the boutique was created to embody the brand’s “paradoxical codes of homage, depravity and deconstructed opulence”.

The two-story 164-square-foot boutique evokes feelings of "surrealism and cold, unattainable luxury" with dark marble and stainless steel primarily making up the space, while "puke green" carpet and matching Pierre Paulin sofa add contrast.

Meanwhile, displays play on perception offering a marriage of state-of-the art modernism and streamlined elegance.

“The ERD boutique is an enclosed grey zone, a geometrical boudoir and a surgical limbo behind a Parisian facade. The space has been shaped as a stage built of metal and stone to enclose the experience of desire,” explained Didier Faustino.

“It feels like a mixture of a bank vault, brutalist torture chamber and Clockwork Orange. I want people to feel as uncomfortable as possible,” added Levy.

In store, shoppers can find men’s and women’s collections by the brand founded in 2012, including ready-to-wear, leather goods, jewelry, eyewear, shoes and more.
