The TD Tom Davies company makes 50,000 pairs of glasses a year, and currently employs 100 people in the UK.

Davies has worked on over a dozen Hollywood films, and has provided 200 frames for the forthcoming Warner Bros The Matrix Resurrections movie (that opens on 22 December), including those worn by lead characters Neo and Trinity.

Given that the Matrix series of film has been particularly notable for its standout eyewear, it has helped propel the designer into the public consciousness.

But he’s also made eyewear for Superman V Batman (worn by Henry Cavill), Spider-Man: Homecoming (Tom Holland), Allied (Brad Pitt) and The Tourist (Angelina Jolie). And he created over 120 frames for Disney’s Cruella starring Emma Stone.

Th new platform will include the pieces created for The Matrix Resurrections, alongside limited edition collections and other glasses from The House of Tom Davies.

The designer’s brands include Catch London that focuses on small runs of “innovative and creative styles [and] regularly collaborates with musicians, artists and London-based influencers”.

And MD1888 is his heritage range with frames that “are classic, understated and feature British craftsmanship, and are the result of intensive handwork”.

The sunglasses worn by Keanu Reeves in the new movie will be available for £395, while blue circular frames worn by new character Bugs, played by Jessica Henwick, will retail at £195. And a new version of the famous nose-clip sunglasses worn by Morpheus, played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, will retail for £49. There are just 200 pairs of each Matrix frame available and 3,000 nose-clips.
