The German clothing company said Janssen comes with a wealth of experience leading product, merchandising and retail teams. Most recently, she was business unit leader of the Clockhouse girls’ brand at C&A, and has previously held roles at Mexx and S.Oliver.

“We are delighted with the signing of Ms Janssen for the business unit Taifun & Samoon,” commented Johannes Ehling, spokesperson of the executive board and chief sales officer.

“She possesses extensive national and international experience both in the wholesale and retail sector. One of her most significant abilities is her fundamental understanding of vertical processes, coupled with a deeply rooted know-how of full package service. With her qualification and her commitment, she will contribute to the further development of our company.”

Janssen joins at a challenging time for the clothing group, which announced it was dropping its Talkabout fashion brand in October to focus on its core brands after falling into financial trouble. A showroom center housing 21 fashion brands has been sold, and there have been mentions of “deep cuts” in both store and corporate staff.

The group, which owns the Gerry Weber, Taifun, Samoon and Hallhuber brands, reported a 7.3% decline in revenue for the first nine months of the year, while adjusted EBITDA fell to €31m from €36.1m a year earlier. The group expects to make full year EBIT losses of up to €10m.
