Heidi Klein swimwear in collab for Temperley first-ever swimwear offer
Swim and beach collaborations are proving popular this year as labels aim to make the most of the post-pandemic recovery in the travel sector.
And British swimwear brand Heidi Klein has collaborated with Alice Temperley’s eponymous Temperley London label to create a small collection of pieces.
It's particularly interesting because it's the first moved into swimwear for the Temperley label, which is best known for its special occasion dresses.
The capsule consists of two strong prints, each coming as a one-piece (at £325), a triangle bikini (£230) and a bandeau bikini (£250) with a matching sarong. The Lace Up Square Neck One Piece sculpts the body and features a scooped back as well as signature Heidi Klein support, thanks to a built in underwire and powermesh.
The prints include stylised, hand-painted poppies engineered onto a bold leopard pattern, and a “more whimsical, bohemian ambiance for the Dreamcatcher print”. It’s a “vibrant, playful engineered print inspired by intricate macramé knot techniques used in the construction of Dream Catchers… interspersed delicately with crochet motifs and vibrant flowers”.
Heidi Klein’s Creative Director, Heidi Gosman worked closely with Alice Temperley – both of them being based close to each other in Somerset.
Gosman said she’s “long admired the elaborate and romantic prints which Temperley London is so known for and it’s been such an inspiring journey to work alongside Alice and translate these onto some of my favourite swimwear silhouettes.”
And Temperley added that she’d always wanted to offer swimwear so it was a good opportunity. “It made total sense as a partnership as we are very much aligned in our values and vision - both British, female-led businesses dedicated to creating timeless pieces,” she added.
The pieces will be available from June 9 via the Heidi Klein webstore.
