Karl Lagerfeld has inked his latest collaboration; this time with fashion entrepreneur and style icon Olivia Palermo

The ultimate New York "It Girl," Palermo will style a selection of pieces from the Karl Lagerfeld fall 2019 collection; as well as co-creating five bespoke designs.

“Being able to collaborate with the visionary and iconic Karl Lagerfeld is truly incredible,” said Palermo in a release.

Ever since she emerged from The City, the glossy reality show in which she portrayed a career gal working for Diane von Furstenberg in the late noughties, Palermo has been a cult figure in fashion.

The innately elegant and highly photogenic Palermo has long been an industry tastemaker. She has developed a giant global following that includes 5.8 million followers on Instagram alone. She is also the founder and chief creative officer of the Olivia Palermo Group Inc. Palermo has previously collaborated with Aspinal of London, Stuart Weitzman, Nordstrom and Banana Republic; though her more recent primary focus has been the development of her own brand.

Working with Lagerfeld, Palermo plans to bridge her sophisticated yet jaunty New York take on fashion with Karl’s Parisian classics, targeted at young women around the world. The collection will be labelled Karl Lagerfeld Styled By Olivia Palermo, and launched in Karl Lagerfeld stores, online at Karl.com and via select wholesale partners in June 2019.

“I am so proud to bring our shared vision to life on this project and infuse my own eclectic perspective to Karl’s Fall 2019 collection,” added the 32-year-old New Yorker.

The news marks the second significant partnership that the house of Lagerfeld has announced this month, and follows on announcement that the octogenarian German couturier will also link up with the former editor-in-chief of French Vogue Carine Roitfeld. In that partnership, Roitfeld will select a series of essential pieces, also from Karl’s Fall 2019 collection, which will retail under the title The Edit by Carine Roitfeld.

Karl Lagerfeld fashion retails in over 100 mono-brand stores worldwide, with key flagships in Paris, London, Moscow, New York, Dubai and Shanghai; while Karl.com reaches 96 countries.
