H&M’s youth-focused Monki brand is moving into social shopping with the company saying that it's taking “community co-creation one step further”. It has come up with two social shopping initiatives, live stream shopping and a digital community.

It's launching the live stream shopping on its website this autumn with the plan being that “fans of #monkistyle will now be able to get a real-time shopping experience where they can interact with the person streaming and other customers, as well as shop the products seen live. All without having to leave the stream.”

And that new digital community? Monki wants to stay “at the forefront of social shopping and community engagement” and said that its new digital community called Monkisphere will goes live this month as a beta version.

It's a place where members can “ask and answer questions as well as share knowledge with each other in a community chat” on the brand's website. It also enables those who want to engage further with the community “to rate, review and style the latest Monki fashion,”  we’re told.

Eleonore Nygårds, Editor-in-Chief at Monki, said the brand has a long history of co-creating with its community and this is the next step in that process.
