Neiman Marcus homes in on supply chain, tech with two new appointments

Neiman Marcus Group (NMG) announced of Friday the appointments of two senior leaders to its management team, as the U.S. luxury retail group looks to strengthen supply chain capabilities and boost its technological prowess.

The Dallas, Texas-based company has named Amanda Martin senior vice president, chief supply chain officer, alongside Vijay Karthik, who has been promoted to senior vice president, chief technology officer.

In her new role, Martin will take over responsibility for all supply chain operations, including NMG's multi-year supply chain transformation, and will oversee the retailer's photo studio and customer care divisions.

Reporting to Bob Kupbens, chief product & technology officer, Karthik will be tasked with driving end-to-end customer facing IT development and architecture, leading a number of functions including omnichannel engineering, cloud platforms, operations and reliability, and architecture for the luxury retailer. 

The appointments look to support the organisation's growth roadmap, Revolutionizing Luxury Experiences.

The RLE strategy has already seen NMG make considerable investments in the business including $90+ million in supply chain to enhance the company's systems and distribution facilities, and $200 million in technology for priorities including the retailer's Connect platform, the acquisition of Stylyze, and new digital labs.
