Opening Ceremony partners with Byronesque for second #FashionPorn pop-up

After a successful Paris Fashion Week vintage pop-up, Opening Ceremony is partnering again with affluent vintage clothier Byronesque for its second installment of #FashionPorn, a two-week pop-up shop taking place at the Opening Ceremony New York flagship on Howard Street.

The name #FashionPorn is a nod to the rare pieces available at the shop. “Oporning Ceremony,” as the event is cheekily titled, is a ‘90s-themed pop-up boasting 300-plus limited pieces from around the world from designers like Helmut Lang (think horsehair heels circa 2004), Raf Simons and pieces from Nicolas Ghesquière’s time at Balenciaga that are only available for purchase by appointment only through Byronesque’s shopping app.
There’s also a separate room devoted to vintage wares from iconic ‘90s designer Margiela.

Gill Linton, CEO and editor-in-chief of Byronesque, said, “This is perhaps the best collection we’ve ever had. The ‘80s was the last time fashion was at its most creative and, while that’s starting to change, we still think it’s essential to uphold the creative defiance of these important vintage designers and the culture they created."

The two week event—ending on July 23—takes place during NYFW: Men’s, aptly celebrating the first time Byronesque is selling menswear.
