The French independent feminist magazine Paulette is expanding and changing its identity. In parallel with its 13th anniversary, the publication founded in 2009 by Irène Olczak is taking a step forward in its efforts to assert itself as a "premium and genderless" magazine.

First issue of Paul.e - Paul.e

"Paul.e is a freedom-seeking personality, self-aware and committed, creative, curious, altruistic, often ahead of its time and very inspiring to others," explained the magazine, which sees 2022 as the year of its "rebirth". From its early days positioned as a magazine with an avant-garde approach committed to diversity, the newly renamed Paul.e will continue to cover topics concerning culture, fashion, society or lifestyle, as well as continue to post its daily publications on its website and social media platforms.

The magazine's editorial team will be led by its new editor-in-chief Pascal K. Douglas and head of content Juliette Minel. The team will work under the supervision of CEO and managing editor, Olczak.

In addition to the name change, the magazine is also repositioning itself into a more premium segment and adopting a new format. Since its issue published in September, Paul.e has become a biannual publication (in March and September) in large format, with 340 pages and weighing 1.5 kg. With a print run of 10,000 copies, it aims to "reinforce the importance of paper objects and a 'slow life' that goes hand in hand with reading".

Under a "desire to expand" over the next three years, the publication will become bilingual, with publications in both English and French. It will be distributed in a total of 11 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan and Italy.
