To promote its Gotcha brand in Chile, Perry Ellis International has entered a licensing agreement with Chilean company Comercial ECCSA S.A. Ripley Corp. The company operates the Tiendas Por Departamento Ripley Chile across the country.

The new licensing agreement will extend to Gotcha’s men's, women's, boy's and girl's apparel, accessories and footwear divisions. Of the new partnership, executive chairman of Perry Ellis International George Feldenkreis said, “We feel Ripley will be a terrific partner for Gotcha and this license will enhance our global reach across product categories and geographies to drive further growth and profitability.”

Raimundo Halabí Berardi, brand manager of Comercial ECCSA, said the company is excited to partner with Gotcha. “This Fall we will be presenting not only surf related apparel but a full Lifestyle collection. The line will consist of a wide range of men's and women's knits, woven's, t-shirts, bottoms and surf accessories,” he said.

The Gotcha brand started in 1978 as a surfwear company and has expanded its line to include skate and snowboarding apparel. Perry Ellis International acquired the brand in 2006.

In addition to its Perry Ellis brand, Perry Ellis International also owns brands such as Jantzen, Original Penguin and Nike Swim. The corporation has expanded its brands’ presence in Latin America in recent years. In 2015, Perry Ellis initiated a similar licensing deal on behalf of Gotcha with the Peruvian division of Ripley’s. Last month it entered a licensing agreement with Wolf Company S.A. de C.V. for distribution of its Cubavera brand in Mexico.
