The children’s wear trade show Playtime will host its 26th edition at the Parc Floral in Paris from June 29 to July 1 this year. A total of 500 children’s fashion and lifestyle brands will take part in the event which has the theme “Metamorphosis” this edition.

The 26th edition of Playtime will take place from June 29 to July 1 in Paris - Playtime

Out of the 500 participating brands in the upcoming edition of Playtime, around a third will be French and will be situated at the heart of the event. Around 100 brands will taking part for the first time including Atelier Parsmei, Coco au Lait, and Dear Sophie among others. Twelve of these brands including Daily Brat and Lu Kids, and Möm(e) have also been selected to showcase their products in the New Now space which will further spotlight the brands. Twelve graphic designers will also showcase their designs to visitors in the Créa.tif space within the trade fair.

The January edition of Playtime brought together 558 brands and 7,235 visitors, slightly fewer visitors than the previous year’s edition. “Offering an ever increasing number of brands does not seem to fit with the current market so we made the decision to reduce the number of collections we present,” said Chantal Danguillaume, the trade show’s commercial director. “By making this firm decision, we wish to offer each exhibitor the best conditions possible and each buyer the best visit experience.”

Playtime has seen some changes to its layout for the upcoming edition as well as the edition of some new sections such as Playgrounds. In the first of these, workshops for up-cycling, graphics, and games will be organised over the course of the three days by Manufacture Paris, Camille Pianel, and Ma Cabane à Rêves. In the second, Koko Cardboards will invite passers by to collaborate on the creation of a large cardboard totem.

Five conferences are also scheduled over the course of Playtime. Spring/ summer 2020 collections will be presented on Saturday, June 29, and Monday, July 1. The first day of the trade show will include a talk on “Building a sustainable fashion business” and the day after, speakers will address two topics: “Online presence for new business challenges” and “Improve customer experience in retail stores”. Finally, a talk on protecting designs will take place on the last day of the event.

On July 23 and 24, Picaflor, the business that organises Playtime in Paris, New York, and Tokyo, will make its debut in Shanghai. The trade show will being 45 international brands to China for the event.
