Reserved launches partywear collection with British Vogue

Polish retailer Reserved and British Vogue are entering new waters with a partnership that will see Reserved launching a partywear capsule collection in-store on December 6. It will be followed by coverage in the January edition of the magazine that’s available on December 7.

It’s the first time in its more-than-100-year history that British Vogue has linked up with a retailer in this way.

And it’s interesting that it’s done so with an international name that has only been operating in the UK market since 2017.

The 10-piece collection is labelled as “Curated by British Vogue” and while its presence in the January edition means the language around the launch is about it being ready for New Year’s Eve, it’s also likely to appeal strongly for pre-Christmas parties.

It’s built around 1980s-style glamour and channels plenty of high-profile looks from that era, as well as the disco style of the previous decade. It comes in sizes 6-18.

All we’ve seen so far are some illustrations by Argentinian artist Daiana Ruiz that also hark back to Vogue’s own history of fashion illustration.

The magazine’s publisher, Vanessa Kingori, said: “Our partnership with Reserved signals an exciting new area of opportunity and the unique collaboration enables British Vogue to get ever closer to our readers. Reserved has already made a mark on the British high street and we are delighted to be part of their growth in the UK and beyond.”

While Reserved is still relatively small in the UK, it’s a mega-brand internationally with 1,700 stores in 20 countries and sales of more than £1.5 billion in its latest financial year. Its sales have risen by around 20% annually for half a decade.
