Cosmetics retailer Sephora is set to open a brick-and-mortar store in Hong Kong in the third quarter of this year. According to local press, the LVMH-owned company will move into a 370-square-metre space at IFC Mall. Already present in Hong Kong thanks to its e-commerce site, the new store will see Sephora make a brick-and-mortar comeback in the special administrative region following a nine-year absence, having shuttered its Mong Kok store in 2010, after only two years of operations.
Sephora, which is currently searching for a manager for this upcoming retail location, is also preparing to expand into a new market later this year with the opening its first store in New Zealand.
Boasting the strongest growth among the retailer's different divisions, Sephora Asia already operates an omnichannel business in China, Singapore, Thailand, Australia and Malaysia. The company also has franchises in India and Indonesia, and has a web presence in the Philippines, Indonesia and New Zealand.
As of December 2018, Sephora operates via a global network of 2,500 stores in some 30 countries.
