Focusing particularly on three main themes: Ireland, Hong Kong and Family, the 18th issue will include a selection of works by photographers, artists and political and literary names, curated by Rocha to represent these variables which are significant forces in her life.

An accomplished designer, Rocha received the British Womenswear Designer Award at the Fashion Awards in 2016 and her designs are showcased in her own stores in London and New York, and in in-store installations in Dover Street Market’s branches in London, New York, Ginza and Beijing.

Working alongside an editorial team, Rocha called on an international cast of friends, family and creative collaborators to paint a broad picture of her universe and our postmodern human condition.

A Magazine Curated By Simone Rocha includes a series of intimate portrait of the designer’s family and nearest friends shot by Thurstan Redding and Ben Toms; a collage by her mother Odette Rocha; an interview with Ireland’s first female president Mary Robinson; think pieces by Nigerian novelist Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, and Irish poet Seamus Heaney; and an exclusive collaboration with Comme des Garçons Garçons photographed by established French photographer Sarah Moon featuring a combination of archive Simone Rocha pieces and Comme des Garçons Autumn Winter 2018 pieces.

The 18th issue of A Magazine Curated By will go on sale online and in Europe on 4 October, and from 9 October in the US and the rest of the world. Her collaboration with the publication, which has previously been curated by Riccardo Tisci, Yohji Yamamoto, Thom Browne and Alessandro Michele, will be celebrated with launch events during Frieze Art Fair at DSM in London and in the brand’s store in New York in October.
