A new chapter is starting at 10 Corso Como. The famous Milanese concept store, founded and managed by Carla Sozzani, has announced the arrival of a new partner: Tiziania Fausti, founder of the luxury multibrand store that bears her name, which has been operating north of Milan, in Bergamo, for the last 40 years.

The two parties have created "a joint venture with the aim of expanding and strengthening 10 Corso Como's presence on the global market," they explained in a release, without giving further details about the structure of the venture. "The objective is to create a dynamic reality, which is coherent with the new demands of the market."

The partners "will share their project for the future development of 10 Corso Como in Italy and around the world, in particular through the digital platform, 10 Corso Como-the-global-shop, with the ambition of amplifying the sensorial experience of 10 Corso Como in the digital realm," the release continues.

Over the last few years, the store known as Milan's temple of luxury has been experiencing something of a slow-down and saw its difficulties increase due to the Covid-19 crisis. In particular, the retailer, which mixes fashion, art, photography, music, lifestyle and food, was forced to close its New York store in April, less than two years after the location's opening.

Founded by Sozzani in 1991, 10 Corso Como has since expanded to Seoul, where it runs two stores, and Japan, where it boasts two concessions in Tokyo department stores run by the Sogo-Seibu group. With its latest move, the company, which is known for its trendy selection of designer brands, will benefit from new momentum and from the commercial expertise of Fausti, who has particular experience in the luxury sector.

Founder and president of Holding Exor, the parent company of her various businesses, Fausti launched her first boutique in the centre of Bergamo in 1979. Since then, the store has grown beyond women's ready-to-wear, gaining menswear, kids' fashion, and accessories, as well as a 100-square-metre shop-in-shop dedicated to Dior.

This flagship address also hosts a number of concessions dedicated to big-name brands including Saint Laurent, Balenciaga, Gucci, Alaïa, Chloé and Celine, among others. The group, which also runs a boutique in Switzerland – Tiziana Fausti Lugano – opened the restaurant, lounge and bar Terrazza Fausti last year and, on Friday, will be inaugurating The F1rst, a Bergamo-based store targeting a younger client base with its focus on contemporary fashion and streetwear.

According to information obtained by FashionNetwork.com, Fausti is taking on an operational role in the management of 10 Corso Como. Sozzani will also continue to work in the store's management and will participate in the new project, but will be refocusing her efforts around the cultural activities of the Fondazione Sozzani, as well as its art gallery and book shop. "I'm proud of this joint venture, which will bring new energy to the managerial team at 10 Corso Como," she said.
