Uniqlo continues its strong links to the world of tennis. The latest has just seen the global apparel retailer hosting a special tennis event at London’s O2 venue, featuring the sport’s superstar Roger Federer. It coincides with Federer’s farewell tournament – the Uniqlo sponsored Laver Cup – marking an end to his long and distinguished career on the professional tennis circuit.

And prior to the event, the Uniqlo Global Brand Ambassador hosted a “unique” coaching clinic for some of Britain's best young tennis talent. Eight of them took part in the junior national champions for under-14s and under-12s boys and girls.

“The once-in-a-lifetime opportunity [allows the group] to hone their skills alongside one of history's greatest in the sport”, said Uniqlo.

The event was part of Japanese brand’s broader ‘Next Generation Programme’, reflecting ongoing work with the full panel of Uniqlo Global Brand Ambassadors “to generate social progress by developing young people through sport”.

Koji Yanai, Group Senior Executive Officer of Uniqlo parent company Fast Retailing, said: "We are very pleased to partner with Roger Federer on activities that help children become future leaders of our society, and which help them grow and realise their dreams through sport. Uniqlo will continue promoting initiatives that nurture the next generation through sport, working towards a more inclusive and sustainable society."

Uniqlo is official apparel sponsor to the Laver Cup tournament, providing uniforms for all on-site and on-court roles.
