VF Corp appoints Velia Carboni as Chief Digital Officer

VF Corporation has announced it appointed Velia Carboni to the new position of Chief Digital Officer. Carboni will serve on the company's executive team and report directly to Chairman, President and CEO, Steve Rendle.

Rendle cited the changing digital retail landscape as the reason VF Corp created the new position. He said, "Velia will lead our digital strategy in a way that fuels growth and enables our brands to build and foster unrivaled connections with consumers worldwide."

Carboni will be tasked with integrating digital into all aspects of VF Corp's business across all brands and functions globally. She will lead digital internal and consumer facing strategy for channels, processes, data, operating models, incentives and culture.

Rendle said the company will be expanding its investments across its digital platform. VF Corp will be focused on "build[ing] strategic partnerships and win[ning] in a very competitive apparel and footwear marketplace.”

Carboni stated her goals for the new role. She said, "Digital at VF will be a powerful business, growth and consumer-satisfaction tool.”

Carboni joins VF Corp after a 25 year long career with Fidelity Investments. She was most recently the Senior Vice President, Mobile and Emerging Platforms for the company’s Personal Investing/Retail Division.

Prior to that role, she was VP of Mobile where she led all mobile product development. She was also a Fidelity product manager, worked in finance, and also in business analysis there.

She holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Northeastern University, where she graduated magna cum laude, and an MBA from Boston University, summa cum laude.

Carboni will be based out of VF Corp's headquarters in Greensboro, NC. Her appointment is effective immediately.
