Director: Han ChongInspiration: An optimistic and positive woman, in the air of time, with pop colours and romantic dresses.Collection: For the spring/summer 2020, Self-Portrait plays with volumes while adding a touch of romantic bohemian. Lace and embroidery, the real codes of the house, are more discreet while the poplin cotton dominates the next season. We like the details of the short ruffled sleeves and of the bare backs with large ribbons to tie. Another big favourite, the playsuit, or the one worn with a trench coat.To note: Vegan leather, the big hats ‘’for all seasons’’ made by the London milliner Noel Stewart.Interview :Han Chong : I wanted things to be a bit more casual, a bit more positive. I wanted to send out a positive vibe to next season so you can see a lot of colours, bright colours, like pink and you can see orange. I feel like it is now more than ever that people want to feel a bit more positive so I do a lot of pieces that are a bit lighter with fabrics so its a bit easy.I always play with textures, for example a dress like this, it’s coton poplin but we make this with padded tie and then when you tie a bow the shape stands up. So you know it’s always playing with that soft and hard and then all the design details are quite defined, they arent shouting too much but they are still very understated and sophisticated.Music from the show (for use only in context of the show, under cover of the right to information).
